TAXES: Let the truth be told

Since John McCain keeps trying to lie to the American people about his and Obama's tax policies, here is an article with non-partisan research that sets the record straight.

Obama's tax policy would give 3x as much relief to the middle and lower classes as McCain's would, while putting less of a burden on the federal deficit. Almost a quarter of McCain's tax cuts would go to people making over $2.8 million, while decreasing government revenue in a time when our deficit and national debt are skyrocketing. That is fiscally irresponsible, especially in a time when we are fighting two wars and borrowing money from the Chinese at an alarming rate. The fact that this is still being argued and that the media hasn't taken John McCain to task for misleading the public is just ridiculous.

But don't take my word for it, read for yourself and decide:

Obama vs. McCain: Taxing and Spending - BusinessWeek

""It's just flat wrong" to say people would do worse under Obama, says Burman. "Most lower- and middle-class people would pay less taxes under Obama than they would under the proposals being put forth by McCain.""
